He practised law in Spain from 1984 to 1998 (Admitted to the Santander Bar Association). During those years he worked as Secretary General of CEOE-Cepyme de Cantabria (1985-1991), as Legal Coordinator of the North of the Spanish Credit Bank, as manager of construction companies and as legal advisor of different banking and financial institutions.
Since 1998 he has lived in Guatemala where he has worked initially as a businessman and academic.
Since 2008 he has been linked, as a professor, to the Faculties of Law at the Universidad Rafael Landívar, Universidad del Istmo and Universidad Panamericana.
He has also collaborated teaching, for several years from 2010 to 2012, the course Commercial Law for Foreign Investors in Guatemala at McGeorge School of Law of Pacific University.
From 2008 to 2015 he served as Career Director at the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences of Universidad Rafael Landívar, and since 2016, as Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Justice Sciences of Universidad Panamericana.
